Claymore – Episode 14 · 4 July 2007

I think I overdid it with the screens last time, I’m way too lazy I mean, with summer prep school starting, I don’t have that much time to takes 30 screens per episode and besides, half of them weren’t even that good. So, after so careful selection and delicate handling of ctrl-alt-s buttons in VLC, I give you exactly ten screens, and a summary of moderate length.

Plot Okies, so here’s Clare, missing an arm, trying to learn the Flash Sword from Irene. Since her last uniform was torn to shreds by Ophelia, Irene gives Clare her old uniform, from that day. It’s missing the left arm, the arm that Priscilla lopped off, but Irene says it’s not that big of a deal. She tells Clare to sit by the fire and eat even though she’s not hungry, it’s better to have something in her stomach. Somehow the subject lands on Teresa. Irene presumes that Clare blames herself for the death of Teresa. She openly states that because Teresa traveled with Clare her skills declined and Priscilla killed her. Despite that, Irene notes that Teresa was the happiest during the short time she and Clare spent together and seemed the most human in those times. This leaves Clare in tears.

Meanwhile, a one eyed Claymore shows up somewhere, her significance at this point is unknown. Back to Flash Sword 101, Irene sensei just lopped off her own arm. The key behind the Flash Sword is to have a strong mind, forcing yoki into a single arm and knowing the limitations of that arm. Irene, at first, thought Clare’s surface personality would be fitting for the Flash Sword, but through their training realizes that Clare’s heart is never at easy, a burning flame. She goes on to say that the Flash Sword is a worthless technique to her, but nonetheless she’s made progress. Then, she cuts off Clare’s shoulder and lops off her own arm. She tells Clare to take her arm, even though now she has none, to carry on Teresa’s legacy and defeat Priscilla. Reluctantly, Clare agrees. Before she leaves, Clare promises that when her battle is finished, she will come and return the arm, so Irene has to still alive.

As Irene bids Clare to live on from the top of a mountain cliff, the mysterious one eyed Claymore arrives. She’s, apparently, Rafaela, number 5 and here to take out Irene the traitor. Irene throws a bunch of questions at her, all of which she refused to answer besides the one about her name, citing the reason that it’s pointless for a dead woman to know the answers. Somewhere else, Clare runs into the Awakened Ophelia, who is still oblivious to her transformation. She wants Clare’s guts, Clare, evidently, cannot give her guts, well, they’re hers! Battle ensues, Clare is pinned down by Ophelia in the bottom of a pond. Upon seeing her own reflection, Ophelia freaks out (eh, so would I.) This angers her even more, that she herself became one of the hated enemy, the one horned Awakened Being (ring any bells?) that killed her brother. Opportunity arises and Clare lops off Ophelia’s right arm. And then her other arm. In partial shock and bemusement, Ophelia asks who the heck Clare is, to which Clare replies, “Number forty seven in the organization, Clare, the successor of Teresa’s flesh and blood, the bearer of Irene’s right arm, and the one who will hunt down the head of the one horned monster, Priscilla.” More thoughts on this later.

Just when you think Clare’s going to kill Ophelia, Irene’s right arm starts acting weird. Since it’s not her own arm, I suppose it’s going to have problems. Like attaching MAC parts to a PC, which wouldn’t work at all, would it? Regardless, Ophelia being weird as always, takes this time to play another one of her games. The last one she played almost got Raki killed. Her Awakened Being form is a giant serpent like thing. She gathers up all of her human parts at the end of her tail and tells Clare that is she slashes through her entire body using Irene’s arm, she will win. Stupidly, Clare actually goes to destroy her entire body, when she could’ve just attacked Ophelia at the end of her tail. Watching her actions, Ophelia mentally calls her reckless, self-destructive and inconsiderate of the people she will leave behind if she dies. She then realizes that’s talking about her brother. Slightly angered by the memories, she pins down Clare again with spikes from her body (I had no idea how to describe that scene, it was weird.) Clare sensing her arm’s limit is ready to give, but then Ophelia yells at her, tells her that she can do. With new resolve, Clare hacks her way to Ophelia. Ophelia tells her that she’ll be fighting Priscilla for her and she won’t forgive Clare is she dies. Then Ophelia falls back into the water. Floating, Ophelia remembers her brother’s last smile that she had forgotten. He was smiling because she was safe, apologizing to her brother for forgetting, she wishes that they would play together again in the other world.

Preview The Witch’s Maw – I” I’ve said this many times, I don’t understand previews, ever. A wandering warrior, half dead lady, Clare putting her hair up. It’s all very vague and blah and confusing and too short. But it serves it’s purpose, a taste small enough that leaves one wishing for more.

Impressions I thought this episode was rather fitting. It ended the Ophelia arc nicely. I’ve come to understand Ophelia better after this conclusion. Back in episode 12, I hated her guts. I despised her. She was the greatest evil, save for Priscilla who I still hate, thus far. Her actions were unforgivable and if I had the power, I wanted to hack her to piece, little tiny pieces and laugh. After 13, it kinda dwindle into mild interest because they brought up her brother and in her pain and agony she transcends into an Awakened Being. This episode closed up her story, it cleared up and brought up a lot of things about her character.

In the end, the evil bitch that I thought was Ophelia, had a lot in common with Clare, the fact that they were both going after Priscilla and the fact that someone dear to them was killed by Priscilla. I think that Ophelia’s decision to pretty give up and let Clare kill her reflected her own realization. She leaves everything to Clare, tells her Clare to fight in her stead, pretty much entrusting Clare to carry out her revenge. So, I learned to stop hating Ophelia, but appreciate her character. I’m surprised.

Like I said, I started watching Claymore because Clare and Raki kissed. However, it turned out better than I thought it’d be. The characters and a very unique plot kept me interested. The show has a way of spotlighting characters and making them important, no matter what their roles are. The fact that I ended sympathizing with Ophelia shows how well they handled the characters. Of course, with that said, I’m assuming all of this was carefully planned out in the manga already, but anyways.

The other thing that caught my attention was Irene. I didn’t like her particularly since she was trying to kill Teresa, but it was nothing like the hate I had for Ophelia and still have for Priscilla. I’m assuming that she’s just acting on orders and if the organization asks her to jump, she’s going to ask how high. The interesting thing was, at the end of fourteen, she ends up in a similar position like that of Teresa. A traitor, helping out Clare and subsequently hunted down by her former comrades. One main difference, she’s missing both her arms. Owwie. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens to her, I hope they don’t disappoint me.

Anyways, I liked this episode. Yeah, it was nothing exceptional, nothing to get my ovaries in an uproar about. A fitting, solid conclusion to an interesting character, a good segue into the next arc. I’m looking forward to a conclusion to Irene’s bit and Raki’s return. I know Claymore carries subliminal yuri implications, but I’m still gonna stick with Clare and Raki. After all, it’s the reason I’m watching this show!

Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto – Kanna Sakyounosuke · 4 July 2007

After an extraordinarily long debate with myself, since no one else saw Iroha, over whether I liked Kanna or Akizuki best, I decided that it was Kanna. The verdict was based mainly on the fact that Akizuki was the main character and, although it’s completely incoherent, I recognize all the characters of Kanna’s name in Chinese.

Kanna the Man Kanna Sakyounosuke(神無左京之介), simply put, is very complicated. He’s half Japanese, half British, his mother being a tayuu from the famous Yoshiwara red light district of Edo, and his father a vice-admiral in the British Navy. His weapons of choice are two Remington New Model Army pistols, used predominantly in the American Civil War. Despite being blind in one eyes he’s an uncannily skilled gunman. Since he is of both Japanese and British descent, kids made fun of him and threw rocks at him. His childhood abandonment by his mother influenced his actions greatly throughout the series.

Kanna and Women To start there are three important women in his life: his mother, Kakunojou who reminds him of his mother, and Queen, one of the soldiers he works with. It’s an apparent trend in Kanna’s life for women to constantly abandon him, for whatever the reason, and it’s the main source of his bitterness towards life.

Kanna and His Mother It all started with his mother who, for reasons unknown, abandoned him one rainy night in London. Pulling away in her carriage she glances mournfully back at her son, running desperately after them. Her husband, the naval vice-admiral, draws the curtains blocking the window and turns her away. A stray rock sent flying by the wheels of the carriage strikes and blinds his right eye, causing him to stop. Not only did his mother ditch him, her carriage also knocked out of his eyes. However, Kanna doesn’t harbor any hatred towards his mother. He keeps her picture in a pocket watch and is constantly haunted by his own memories of her.

Kanna and Kakunojou All of this leads to Kakunojou, who (although I personal do not see it) resembles his mother. Every time he sees his mother he sees Kakunojou, every time he sees Kakunojou, he sees his mother. It doesn’t help him any that every time he sees Kakunojou she’s always clinging onto Akizuki or showing some sort of affection for him. In a sense, he probably feels that Kakunojou is abandoning him as well. I don’t perceive his actions and feelings towards Kakunojou as romantic, but simply as a reminder of his mother and he somehow he wants to find comfort and cannot.

Kanna and Queen Queen, until episode twenty three, was a cameo, reoccurring character that I never paid much attention to. When Kanna starts talking to her on the ship, I was hoping so badly for arelationship between the two and seeing how it’s implied that the two did it halfway through the episode, I was obscenely happy. Then, then! Then, the evil, bastard of demonic power wielding head has to go and wreck everything. So, trying to take revenge for her dead brother, Queen goes to kill Enomoto, who is possessed by the head. Evidently she fails, breaks her weapon and suffering a mental breakdown, flees in terror. Kanna sees this as being abandoned, yet again. And after being influenced by the power of the head, proceeds to shoot her, metaphorically his own mother. After realizing what he’s done, he breaks down as well and tries to kill himself. Kakunojou, who at this point is on the bad guy’s side, save him and recruit him to their side.

The Point!? Alright, so what, in my mind, it all winds down to is that all Kanna ever truly wanted was some love from his mother. I’m serious. At the root of everything, being abandoned by his mother, Kakunojou, Queen, even the country he swore loyalty to, none of them showed him any love. After being saved by Kakunojou, during his battled with Akizuki, he declares that everything is alright, because he had her love. He was just a guy who was dealt a completely fubar hand.

Why Why do I like him? I found his character to be such a delicate, gentle and complex character. It was painfully real and yet at the same time had that melodramatic quality. The fact that he died broke my poor fangirl heart. Not only is Kanna totally abused by everyone, the one person (Queen) that might’ve given him some form of consolation, he was forced to kill. The world has is out to get him, every single thing that happens to this poor man is horrible. From being ditched by his mother, loosing an eye, almost killed by his son of a bitch commanding officer, killing his the girl he had a one night stand with, Kakunojou going off with Akizuki, every single thing, every single goddamn thing is evil! Nothing good, at all happened to him this entire time. And then he dies. He just sat down in a hair, took one last look at his mother, smiled and died.

Honestly, I think he was just lonely. He just wanted his mother. And the really crazy thing is, his character had nothing to do with the storyline. All of this trauma he was subjected too, all of this crap that happened to him, in the end amounted to very little. He failed at retrieving the head, failed at assassinating Enomoto, and just died.

To quote from Iwa ni Hana’s Iroha blog:

Kanna may turn out to be a pointless blond bishounen. At least Maximilien in Chevalier is a crucial key to something. I am not sure whether Kanna will amount to anything besides being a half-crazed desperado.

Kanna, Pure Eye Candy…? Okay, okay, confession time: the other thing that drove me crazy about Kanna was hot and gorgeous his character looked. I mean, the characters from Iroha were beautifully designed. Akizuki was the reason I watched it, I just fell in love with his eyes and that silly haircut of his. However, his character was too stereotypical and somewhat bland. And then, enter Kanna. He’s blonde, makes frills look good on men and carries two pistols and looks damn good shooting people. Episode 8, where Akizuki and Kanna are trying to kill each other, in one of the most well coordinated fights I’ve seen in anime, was simply orgasmic. I’m sorry, two hot males trying to kill other. God.

His eyes, despite having only one, were such a beautiful color. His shoulder length blonde hair, those eyes, the stupid frills…This is why being a fangirl is great…

Kanna the Pointless Bishounen Yeah, that sums it up. His character was completely unnecessary but it made Iroha so much more interesting that he was there. The dramatic back story, the emotional depth of his character and all the agony he put me through watching him made Iroha worth it.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann – Episode 14 · 4 July 2007

I’ve learned from various people and my old blog that long summaries are bad. So, here’s to short and sweet:

Plot Fast forward one month from the last episode, the battle with Cytomander. Simon and Yoko is visitng Kamina’s grave before the final attack on Teppelin. The crew is working on patching up the Dia-Gurren, preparing for the attack. Meanwhile, inside Teppelin, Cytomander volunteers to attack the humans first. Guame comments that Cytomander’s young and he is too eager. He also says that the humans are persistent and no matter how many times they are defeated, they always return. The Spiral King replies that the faith of humans is their one valuable trait, as well as their fatal foolishness.

Soon, the Dai-Ganten commanded by Cytomander comes into firing range of the Dai-Gurren and proceeds to fire all of it’s missiles at the giant ship. But thanks to the reactor Leeron picked up from their last battle, the Dai-Gurren takes flight and dodges all of the missiles. The ganmen are also equip with reactors and are launched from the Dai-Gurren. Kittan and his sisters combine to form, if memory serves correct, the King Kittan Deluxe? Anyways, it’s nifty and pretty cool looking. Cytomander’s forces begin taking off from his airship-cruiser fortress, the Dai-Ganten. Huge air battle ensues. Somewhere, Guame with his fortress appears and starts shelling the Dai-Gurren.

Defenseless, the Dai-Gurren has no where to escape, facing bullets in every direction. Convincing the others that he is capable of handling Cytomander’s freakishly large squadron, Simon faces off against the enemy. In one of the less epic scenes, the Gurren Lagann takes out all of Cytomander’s minions. After this tiring, albeit impressive, show of power, Simon leaves the Gurren in Russio’s hands. Just as he takes over control, an array of missiles is sent flying in his direction. Russio manages to dodge all of the incoming artillery, all the time screaming and wailing in panic. However, Cytomander is not deterred by this setback. He comes out in his custom ganmen, Shuzack. The Gurren is unable to move after over exerting power is held down by Cytomander’s ganmen as he approaches with a saw to finish the job.

All is not lost! Suddenly the enemy is attacked by a volley of fire from an unknown source. Through the dust and sand of the arid plains, appearing on the horizon are more human controlled ganmen. After witnessing Guame’s defeat broadcasted live across the world, more humans for their underground villages rose up to join the Dai Gurren Brigade. Kamina’s emblem sailing proudly in the air, reinforcements have arrived! The attack regains momentum as everyone opens fire on the enemy. Cytomander is not done yet, transforming into an upgraded version. Unfortunately for the poor lunatic General, the Dai Gurren charges in, ramming into his ganmen head first, cutting his fortress in two and sending it straight for Guame on the ground below. Upon collision, there is an enormous explosion.

Dai-Gundo, however, is not destroyed. It reappears and begins spinning at the base of Teppelin, creating a tornado and an energy field around the beastmen capital. The new reinforcements begin hurling themselves into the tornado uselessly. The Dai-Gurren is unable to contact any of them. Then, Nia appears on a projector. She introduces herself as the cook of the Dai-Gurren and advises everyone to stay put and stop dying needlessly. One of the funnier scenes is when she bows during her introduction and the flying ganmen all bow back. Any case, Nia tells everyone that Simon will stop the tornado and defeat the enemy. Why? For a second, I thought she was going to sing or speak some cliched words of inspiration. But true to the quirky nature of the show from the Kamina days, Nia declares under the brilliant sun of a beautiful blue sky, that Simon’s drill is the one to pierce the heavens.

Simon, true to Nia’s word is on a surprise attack, drilling underneath the Dai-Gundo. Before Gurren’s drill is able to penetrate the armor, Guame sets in on a reverse spin and crushes the Gurren. Everyone is in shock from this new development. But Simon isn’t finished. Thanks to the force exerted on the Gurren’s drill from the reverse spin, Simon was able to break through the armor. He proceeds to drill right through the Dai-Gundo and Guame, destroying both. They may have won the battle, but the war is far from over (it’s still only half way through the series! Of course the war is still far from over!) As the dust settles, large buildings begin falling off the beastmen capital to reveal the giant face of a ganmen.

Preview “I’ll Head Towards Tomorrow” The preview this time was a bit weird, the giant chunks of Japanese seriously disrupted the pictures and I was unable to really tell what was going on. Then again, if were able to read Japanese, it probably would not have been that big of a problem…Anyways, looks like Nia is going to be in trouble, Gurren is fighting another ganmen, and…giant chunks of Japanese! Ugh!

Impressions It is official: I am in LOVE with Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. That is it, that’s it. It’s probably my favorite show running, second to Darker Than Black. Gurren Lagann is epic, it’s Lord of the Rings, Matrix epic but done by Gainax which means it’s completely crazy and infinitely better than the Matrix and LoTRs combined, not to say I didn’t enjoy either of those. In fact, that Matrix kicked ass. Not only is Gurren Lagann epic, it’s also so silly and childish and innocently beautiful. The prime example is Nia. After Kamina died I had a total fit and was convinced nothing could ever replace him, but along came Nia. Nia didn’t replace Kamina but she added her own flavor to Gurren Lagann, ironically she’s the cook. It gives me such tremendous joy, such profound delight when I watch it, it’s marvelous. It’s absolutely crazy, but it’s true.

As far as this episode goes, seeing the reinforcements, seeing Simon defeat Guame was beautiful. I just gave me this wonderful feeling that Simon and the Dai Gurren Brigade won. I like the part with Nia, Nia in the Sky with…um, Ganmen? Oiy, anyways, I thought it nicely done. The scene where Russio is running for his life, dodging missiles was also particularly funny. Cytomander looked a bit freakish for my taste, especially right before he gets blown to bits, he looked rather creepy.

It’s funny because I don’t think I’ve mentioned Yoko more than once in my summary. She pretty much stood in the bridge this episode, looking worried. The fact that Nia usually gives everyone hope and Simon saves the day, leaves Yoko with nothing to do really. I always though Gurren Lagann was going to progress with Kamina and Yoko as a couple and sometime later someone (Nia) would show up to be with Simon. I was never prepared to see Kamina die. Yoko is like a wallflower now. I really liked her character though, she was a little bit annoying but seeing how she’s not like a loli and actually displays her assets through revealing clothing AND carries a large rifle made up for everything.

Any case, I’m looking forward to more inspirationally epic battles and I heard something about them going into space? If they take Teppelin now, I guess they have to go into space. Simon’s the drill is the one that pierces the Heavens, after all.

Halo – the games, the books, the movie · 3 July 2007

Halo: Combat Evolved (PC)

Halo, quite frankly, is the reason why I live. It was the first shooter I picked, it was the first shooter I totally kicked ass in. I’m not bragging. Borrowing some words from Trowa of Gundam Wing, those who have laid on eyes on me with a pistol will not live to tell about it. It took half a year at least before I got my mother to buy it for me. It’s kind of said but I played the trial version for months. I was pretty decent in trial, but it was in the full version that I discovered my true calling, the pistol. The pistol is the best weapon, ever. It has range and it packs power. The pistol in the first game dealt so much damage and it was a secondary weapon! It wasn’t even a primary weapon. It carried more ammo than a sniper, but it could be just as effective. It was small, less bulky and if you were skilled enough, can pwn every other weapon.

Aside from being an excellent multiplayer game, campaign mode of the original Halo was also worth every penny and every minute. When I first started, being a noob, I got totally freaked out when I hit the flood and just refused to play. The flood, the flood scared the crap out of me. You’re totally alone, none of the AI managed to make it alive that far, you have limited ammo for a shottie and an assault rifle, you have a floating robot shit for brains as a guide and suddenly from nowhere this ‘thing’ just jumps out at you. Then you see your sensor and there’s a giant red mass moving towards you, from all direction. God, it was so scary. Later, when I beat the game I tried it again on Heroic and Legendary, I was traumatized. Anyways, aside from being scared half to death, I managed to beat it. My computer crashed later and I lost all of my saved games. I was so close to finishing the last level on legendary, I regret not doing so.

Halo 2 (360)

Well, after a good year I finally got my hands on a lovely, sleek, beautiful Xbox 360. The design is killer, you have no idea. Compared to the original Xbox, it’s a knock out. Finally, someone over at Microsoft took a hit and designed something good looking. I bought a subscription to Xbox Live to play Halo 2 Multiplayer and I have to say, I’m not that impressed. Well, basically they killed the pistol. It has no scope, it doesn’t do anything and I’m expected to make do with the semi automatic battle rifle, which sucks. But the addition of the energy sword and dual wield function made up for a lot. Energy swords are the new noob weapons but God, they pwn. They are just so damn fun. It’s almost moronic, but when you go on a spree slicing up people in a 64 people LAN party, it’s heaven. I came in second in that game, my friend beat me by like…12 kills. Bastard.

As for the campaign, I played most of it at my friend’s house before I got my own and I basically know everything that happened. Once again, I stopped at the flood level. It’s a little less than halfway through and I’m too lazy, even on normal, to pull through the flood level. Fact: Flood > Covenant Weapons. Needlers, plasma rifles, carbines, every plasma weapon sucks against flood. I need a shotgun, or an assault rifle. Though lacking completely in range and accuracy, the primary human weapon is complete automatic and is perfect for spraying flood. The shotgun is, close range, takes down every kind of flood possible. Plasma weapons can’t do either, so I gave up there.

Halo 3

Just the idea, the mere idea of Halo 3 keeps me alive. If it weren’t for Halo 3, I probably would’ve given up on life a while ago. The trailer was beautiful, I hope to hell Bungie and Microsoft delivers. Halo 2 was a bit disappointing in plot and game play, but it sufficed. Halo 3, the end of this video game masterpiece better match up every bit to its reputation. The trailer was a total knockout, it was mesmerizing. I’m even going as far as to pre-order (something I NEVER do,) so that when it comes out, I along with the four million other people that pre-ordered the thing, will able to play. And, I missed the beta because I was too lazy to go and buy Crackdown. I thought about it, but I’d rather wait, builds up the anticipation. I rarely look forward so much to something.

Halo Wars and Untitled Halo Project

I have no real interest in either. Halo Wars is a real time strategy game and Untitled Halo Project is exactly what the name says, an untitled Halo project. Not much news from the latter, until further announcement, I really can’t give you my two cents on that. However, if possible, I will purchase Halo Wars when it comes out.

The Books

I’ve read all four books. They say there are two more coming out, I’m looking forward to them. I read a lot of things, in varying genres, on varying subjects, basically anything I’m interested in. It’s quite alright for me to scoff when they see me with a Halo novel, but to disregard the novels simply because they’re game based is just idiotic. They were, surprisingly, good. Eric Nylund is a pretty sci-fi author. He knows his techno jargon well enough to get away with the crazy futuristic technology and is good enough as a writer to handle his characters and plot.

The latest one, Ghost of Onyx really struck a nerve with me. If you want the plot, go to Wiki, which has a pretty in depth summary. But, the spoiler, what really killed me was that Kurt sacrificed himself. After riding with him through the entire book, it really killed me that he died. God, and they say Spartans never die. I think this was the first game based book I cried over. There are three books I honestly wept over at the end. Two of them, curiously enough, are by Steinbeck. Tortilla Flat, Of Mice and Men and All Quiet on the Western Front. Ghost of Onyx didn’t stir my emotions quite as much as the aforementioned had, but it’s going down in my memories as one of the more mermorable spin offs from the Halo series.

The Movie

Honestly, I’m really not sure what to make of this. I’m interested, but also scared that they went and screwed up one of the only pleasures in life. I mean, Peter Jackson is backing it. I’m not a particular fan of Peter Jackson, Lord of the Rings was alright. I enjoyed like half an hour’s worth of footage from a six hour long trilogy. ‘Nuff said. For some reason or another, the funding was pulled from it and production was delayed and it’s coming out even later. I don’t even know who’s directing in or who’s starring in it. I’m just praying they turn out something good.

Emotional Detachment Issues · 2 July 2007

I think I have problems. It’s been at least a year since I watched FullMetal Alchemist and the Movie. Just today, I’m browsing through someone’s blog I came upon and saw their post about the movie. I had the urge to pull out my disc and watch it again and then I suddenly had this strange feeling of loss, like my best friend is moving away or at my middle school graduation or something like that. Like it’s unbearable to watch it again. I loved FMA, I swear to all the heavenly powers that be, I loved FMA. It made me have faith in anime and fandom again, it bought joy to a totally dismal school year, reunited me with my best friend and showed that Chinatown was not just a tourist attraction. And when it ended, when the last ending credits rolled away, when it was all over, I swore I wanted to cry (I think I did.)

Yeah, I’m that weird. I can’t handle the end of movies and anime. Books are a different story, the end of books are fine, I enjoy the end of a book. The nice, neat sound when you close a hardcover book and the satisfaction to the end of words. But anime, I can’t, I can’t. Thank God the manga is still going on. Speaking of which, ZOMGFTA site was down recently. Gotta check for Chapter 72!

But really, I think I’m over my “I need to weep” bit. It’s just so strange, such a strange longing that accompanies the end of a series. Any series that I truly enjoyed, I felt this awkward sadness when it was over. Ehh, oh well. Time to read Chapter 72! If they have it!

Cookie Cutter Love (FMA) · 2 July 2007

Um, yeah, I write fanfiction, and I’m going to post about it because having this new blog makes me feel all giddy and excited and it’s too late (rather, it’s too early) for me to start blogging about DtB 12. Also, no one is really going to read this, so it doesn’t matter.

Anyways, the fanfic:

Title Cookie Cutter Love
Series Hagaren (FMA)
Relationships Roy/Riza (Royai! =D!)
Comments Eh, well, it’s a drabble-ish thing based on the second set of thirty Royai themes. The first one’s about cookies, the second one is about a day off. I’m not too good at drabbles, >.<; And it's right here on Fanfiction.net.

Ugh, I can’t believe I’m going to bed at seven in the morning, but anyways, gotta enjoy my last fleeting days of freedom before summer prep school starts.

YAY! I figured everything out! · 2 July 2007

Alright, so I was the biggest moron alive for like six hours but now, everything has been resolved! =D! Happiness! Very very happy! I’m off to read manga and write fanfiction! And yes, at like four in the morning, because I’m weird. And I also watched Darker Than Black 12!! Whee!! Curse my non-Japanese speaking abilities. Reduced to waiting endlessly for subs. Oh, heinous crime. Why can’t they be dubbed over in Chinese? >.< (I can’t read Chinese….welll….Shhhhh) Any case, this post was totally pointless. Like a test run, just to see how it all works out. I’m enjoying this layout, even though it looks rather odd and discombobulated. All that aside, I think I like what I see. I think.

Oh god, I am so confused. · 1 July 2007
